CHRISS KNIGHT, OWNER
Chriss’ passion for helping small businesses grow through social media and image branding lead her to create SparkPop Media. SparkPop was born from NOLA Socialite, a social media management company Chriss started in 2010 that has since expanded services to businesses outside of the New Orleans area.
Chriss is Host of “The Real Wild Animals of New Orleans”, a behind the scenes web series by Audubon Nature Institute (
www.realwildanimals.com), and Co-Host of NOLA Marketplace on WGNO/NOLA38. Chriss also manages social media accounts for various New Orleans businesses and is a Fashion/Lifestyle writer for America’s Best Racing, a website in partnership with the National Thoroughbred Racing Association.
As a television news reporter, Chriss lived in cities all around the country before calling New Orleans home. From reporting live during blizzards in the Midwest, to showcasing the fun and quirky characters and events that make up New Orleans, Chriss’ feature and breaking news coverage earned her awards and honors from the Nebraska Broadcaster’s Association, Nebraska Associated Press and the Press Club of New Orleans.
Chriss is highly involved in charity events in New Orleans, serving on committees and emcee-ing various fundraisers in the city. Chriss graduated with a degree in broadcast journalism from Georgia State University in Atlanta.
She grew up in a small town in Northeast Georgia and spent most of her time riding horses on her family’s farm. Chriss is married and has two adorable cats and a hamster.

ABBY ROMO – FREELANCE WRITER AND SOCIAL MEDIA CONTENT COORDINATOR
Abby graduated from to the University of South Dakota in May with a degree in Contemporary Media and Journalism-Emphasis in Public Relations. Before that, she attended Cedarville University in Ohio.
During college, Abby enjoyed planning events for her figure skating club, college groups and sports teams. Abby says she chose public relations because, “I can mix my ability to write with networking, promoting, and event planning all with a little bit of strategy.”
When Abby isn’t writing press releases for upcoming events, she loves shopping, coffee, running/working out, ice cream and spending time with her daughter Liliana and husband David
